Chuck Muir

Muir refereed the infamous Swansea v Castres Olympique match at St Helen's in 1995. Castres had a man dismissed for punching and were amazed that Swansea were allowed to assist the jumpers in the line out. They threatened a mass walk-off and their then President staged a one-man pitch invasion after lock Jeannard was sent off. Muir needed a police escort off the field and angry French players smashed windows of the referee’s room. Swansea won 22-10
